Another great stitch for making knit ear warmers is the seed stitch. Like the garter stitch, it is a reversible stitch, which means it looks the same on the front and the back. To make the seed stitch, knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch across the row. Then purl the knit stitches and knit the purl stitches on the second row, and repeat this alternating pattern until you have reached your desired length. It looks great as is, however with a few simple tweaks, you can transform this ear warmer with a few simple alterations. Have fun with it! There are more ways to customize it than what is listed below, so feel free to get creative!
Simple Seed Stitch Ear Warmer
How to make this Seed Stitch Ear Warmer
Bulky Yarn (5)
US 10 knitting needles
CO 14 sts
Row 1: With yarn in front, slip stitch purl-wise, p1, k1 across all stitches
Row 2: With yarn in back, slip stitch purl-wise, k1, p1 across all stitches
Repeat last two rows for desired length. Mine was 21 inches long. Cut a long tail, sew the edges together, weave in ends, block, customize, and enjoy!
